What is Tajweed and Why is it Important?
Tajweed is the set of rules that govern the correct pronunciation of Quranic Arabic. The word Tajweed comes from the Arabic root "Jawwada" which means to make something better or to perfect.
Allah says in the Quran:
"And recite the Quran with measured recitation." (Quran, 73:4)
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
"The one who recites the Quran skillfully will be with the noble and righteous scribes, and the one who recites with difficulty and stammers will have double the reward." (Bukhari)
